Jerry L. Nichols

1939 - 2009

Jerry Lee Nichols, age 70, of Carrollton, O., passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, in Mercy Medical Center in Canton, O.
He was born March 19, 1939, in Dennison, O. He was the son of the late Oakie A. and Ada A. (Rutledge) Nichols. He was retired from the Carroll County Highway Department, where he had been superintendent. After his retirement from the highway department, he had worked for Huebner Chevrolet delivering cars. He was a member of Carrollton First United Methodist Church, Carroll County Antique Tractors Collectors Club, Carrollton Masonic Lodge No. 124 F.A.M., Carrollton Ruritans, Minerva Lodge No. 123 R.A.M. and Loyalty Council No. 146.
Jerry married Alberta Mae Carr on June 5, 1959, who survives along with two sons, Scott A. (Chris) Nichols of Carrollton, O., and Mark (Kim) Nichols of Marysville, O.; two daughters, Jeri Nichols Riffle of Columbus, O., and Becky (Mike) Marteney of Bellevue, O.; one brother, Jack (Barbara) Nichols of Robertsville, O.; one sister, Patty (Clyde) Campbell of Carrollton, O.; seven grandchildren, Mycala, Ellie, Hannah and Brittany Nichols, Trent and Taylor Marteney and Matt Riffle.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Nichols, and one sister, Jenny Lu Dye.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at 11 a.m. in Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Loomis officiating. Calling hours will be Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with Masonic services at 5:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
