Francis Kelleher Obituary

Francis J. Kelleher 1923 - 2016
Mr. Francis J. Kelleher, age 92, of Little Falls, a World War II Veteran, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at his residence.
Francis was born on October 19, 1923, in his family home, to the late Patrick and Margaret (Hartnett) Kelleher. Francis was educated in rural school and graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1941. After graduation, Francis was drafted in the Army, where he proudly served his country under General Patton in World War II Battle of Bulge. He was honorably discharged in April of 1946.
After serving his country, Francis returned home, where he became a dairy farmer, cattle dealer and auctioneer. He loved his farms, cows and the numerous people that he came in contact with. He loved visiting the diners and his political conversations. Over all, Francis loved life to the fullest.
Francis was a member of the Holy Family Parish in Little Falls, as well as the National American Legion, and the Farm Bureau.
Francis was predeceased by his brothers, John Kelleher and Robert Kelleher; a sister-in-law, Marion Kelleher; a brother-in-law, William Scanlon; and a nephew-in-law, Edward Daley.
He is survived by his sister, Marion Scanlon, a nephew, John P. Scanlon and his wife, Jennifer, and a grand-niece, Erin (his special skipper), all of Little Falls; nieces and nephews, Mary Daley and family, Ann Monahan (John) and family, Ruth Boepple (Frank) and family, Robert Kelleher (Karen) and family; several grand-nephews and grand-nieces; and many special friends.
The family would like to thank Hospice, along with Eunice, Jackie, Kristin and Dale, for all of their help and support, and special thanks to Dr. Mills, Allison Townsend and their staff.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe Street, Little Falls, (315) 823-2424, from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM on Sunday, January 17, 2016. His funeral service and Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, commencing at 10:30 AM from the funeral home and at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Parish, corner of John and E. Main Sts., Little Falls, where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Terence Healy, assisted by Deacon James Bower. Procession will then follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer, where he will be laid to rest, with full military honors.
The family is being cared for by Harry J. & Kevin E. Enea, Funeral Directors.

I have a lot great memories, that I acquired while working for Francis and the old gang (Blondie, Eddie, Pat Kelleher, Bob Kelleher, Marion Kelleher, John, Gary, Fred Talbot) All the late night trips from the auction barns. Francis was a very caring and passionate person. He will be greatly missed.
