CLIFTON PARK - Barbara A. Baxter, 88, of Clifton Park, N.Y., passed away, at home, on August 23, 2024, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Mechanicville, N.Y., and was predeceased by her parents, J. Arthur Herrick and Mary Esther Kipp Herrick. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Frederick Baxter, Sr.; daughter, Holly Marchand (Marc); son, Frederick Baxter Jr. (Arlene); granddaughters, Danielle Knapp (Sean), Rachel Waller (Lukas); and great-grandchildren, Morgan, Elijah, Rebekah and Benjamin. Additionally, she is survived by her sister, Nancy Herrington, of Del.; and five nieces.
Barbara was a graduate of the Mechanicville High School, class of 1953. She was a cheerleader captain. She loved to play the piano, and was a wonderful homemaker and baker. She was a member of the Shenendehowa United Methodist Church for 55 years.
Her family would like to extend their utmost gratitude for the wonderful home care she received from Hospice through Colleen, Nicole, Diane and Chaplain Brian; additionally, the staff from Fort Hudson Homecare, consisting of Tracy, Robin and Jo Ann; lastly, the exceptional and loving care from the following health aides, Rohanie, Maritza, Anitta and Ann.
