Cecelia S. Kazmer

Kazmer, Cecelia S. SCHENECTADY, N.Y. Cecelia S. Kazmer, 92, formerly of Albany, died Sunday afternoon, October 11, 2009 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home. Born and educated in Albany, Cecelia was the daughter of the late John and Stacia (Mazur) Sowek. A former employee with J.C. Penney in Albany, Cecelia was the first president of the St. Casmir's Ladies Guild, a member of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament and a 50-year volunteer at St. Peter's Hospital. An avid traveler, Cecelia loved playing cards with her friends. Cecelia was predeceased in 2004 by her husband of 67 years, Chester Kazmer and was also predeceased by a daughter, Joan Moon and sister, Alice Busch. She is survived by her son, Paul Kazmer and wife Thea of Guilderland; son-in-law, Thomas Moon of Niskayuna; brother, Edward Sowek of Latham; her seven grandchildren, Dr. Paul Kazmer (Janet), Michael Kazmer (Erin), Keith Kazmer (Danielle), Dr. Nancy Tofil (Eric), Dr. Thomas Moon and Robert Moon, nine great-grandchildren, Andrew, Kaitlyn, Ashley, Alexander, Cara, Gavin, Kai, Jarod and Ryan; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, followed at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Central Ave., Albany, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
