To Kathy, Teri, Lori, Robyn and all, I am very sorry for your loss. This lovely obituary is a nice tribute. Dude was a very hardworking, family man. An upright business man. Someone with no falsehoods. My father shared many stories with us of fun times with his cousins in Saratoga; I know they are together once more, and I hope that you all find comfort in a belief that one day we will be with them again.

It's with a heavy heart that I write this today. I enjoyed working with this man for the good part of 15 years as he and his trusted crew would supply me and my team the beautiful flowers that made our city shine every summer. Whether it was a hanging basket, mixed begonia flats or tulip bulbs, Dude was always there to share his opinion with me. Dude was a straight shooter when it came to his flowers. Whether it was good or bad, I respected his words and I think that will be what I will miss the most. Beautifying the city will continue for many summers to come, but without his presence it won't shine as much. I'll miss you my friend. God Bless you and your family as you rest in peace.

Kathy, Lori and Family,

Dude was such a special man with a big personality and huge heart. We always enjoyed our visits at Camp and our conversations with Dude - he always made us laugh! A forever memory of him - sitting in his chair at camp welcoming family and friends (new and old) and making everyone feel like family. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your family and having the opportunity to know him. He will be missed.

To Kathy and the whole family, Our most heartfelt love, prayers and sympathy to all. Rod and I will hold Dude and all the wonderful times spent with him close to our hearts forever. We both loved him and enjoyed exchanging laughs at the house, camp and restaurant gatherings. I hope he is relaxing in that folding lawn chair that he made me retrieve from the river. We will miss him immensely. Rest in peace dear friend. You were so loved.

Dearest Kathleen and family,

So many people in Dude's enormous world, are beyond heartbroken over his loss, and our love, respect and love for him, go out to every member of your beautiful family. You two were, and shall always be, one of God's beautiful couples!

I moved to the West side over 25 years ago, and each and every morning around 5:15 AM, Dude was virtually, one of the first three human beings I would encounter, either on Beekman, or the Stewart's shop, as he was after his papers. We had so many wonderful conversations about our respective families, the world, varied interests, and through it all, he was always eye-to-eye with his honesty & twinkle, such pride in the family business, and as you all know, he had a great wit, which at times consisted of Don Rickles or Lenny Briscoe. I can't describe the feeling and warmth I feel each morning, as Dude's aura is all over this region. He was and will always be, "Saratoga Personified", and it will be my great honor to carry him inside my heart for the rest of my days.

May God bless and comfort you all,

Kenny Wilkins

I have had the distinct privilege of having known Dude most of my life; growing up in the Elm Street neighborhood just a couple blocks from Dehns' florist shop, having worked with him as I was employed for almost 17 years with The Adirondack Trust Bank, and just seeing and speaking with him over these many years. A true, honest and friendly man whose life achievements speak well of him and how he treated his fellow man. I am sure he will receive many praises and accolades from a multitude of people within the Saratoga community, but I especially will never forget every kindness he has shown me over the many years we have known each other. May you rest in peace with the angels for all eternity and may all your survivors remember your passion and compassion for your fellow man and replace the tears they may shed now. A life well lived - a man very much loved!
