Daniel Bouchey Obituary

Bouchey, Daniel J. BURNT HILLS Daniel J. "Danny" Bouchey, 62 of Burnt Hills, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Joyce Carey and Bernard Bouchey. Danny's siblings, Steven and Barbara, have been his guardian for over forty years and helped to create a life for him that was filled with love, which would make their Mom proud. Danny fought valiantly for five weeks in hospice, was loved and cared for by us, but the mountain was too high to climb. Danny was a sweet, kind, gentle and loving soul who showed love to all those he met. His gift to us was his unconditional love and taught us how the simple things in life can bring such joy like sitting quietly, watching a Yankees game or eating M&Ms. Since the death of his mother at nine years old, Danny and his brother Brian have been part of the extraordinary The Arc of Rensselaer County, Living Resources and enjoyed working at Saratoga Bridges Day Program. Danny was fortunate to be in a loving foster family for over forty years with the Whitney's. He is survived by his siblings, Steven (Susan) Bouchey of Troy, Barbara Bouchey and Brian Bouchey of Saratoga Springs; uncle to Ryan (Nicole) Bouchey and Lauren Bouchey of Saratoga Springs; great-uncle to Ryan's children, George, Harry and Josephine Joyce Bouchey. Danny's foster family was Mary and the late Bud Whitney and their children, Charles (Dee), Buddy Whitney, Debbie (Bill) Simard and predeceased by Cathy (Tom) McBride. Steven and Barbara would like to extend their heartfelt thank you to the staff at Samaritan Hospital Fifth Floor/ICU and Hospice Inn at St. Peter's for their loving and compassionate care of Danny for the past four months. Services for Danny will be held privately and he will be interred in St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a contribution to The Arc of Rensselaer County https://www.renarc.org/ or Living Resources https://www.livingresources.org/ in memory of Daniel J.
