Edward A. Etzkorn

DELMAR Edward A. Etzkorn, 85, died at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany, Monday, July 21, 2003. He was born in Roselle Park, N.J., the son of the late Edward and Mary Givens Etzkorn. He was a graduate of Fordham University in New York with a BS in accounting. Before moving to Delmar, he had resided in Fultonville and Long Island. Ed was employed by Tri-Arts Press in New York City for 27 years and after retirement he and his wife operated the cafeteria at The Auriesville Shrine for ten years. He had been a member of the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a communicant and active participant at St. Thomas the Apostle in Delmar. He is survived by his precious wife of more than 60 years, Emily Fagan Etzkorn; seven children, Dr. Edward R. Etzkorn and his wife Van of Fountain Valley, Calif., Dr. Eugene T. Etzkorn and his wife Letty of Tacoma, Wash., William G. Etzkorn and his wife Wendy of Hurricane, W.Va., Robert J. Etzkorn and his wife Doreen of Fonda, N.Y., Dr. Eloise Potenza and her husband Vince of Delmar, Dr. Eileen Monuszko and her husband Jim of Vero Beach, Fla, and Dr. Emily T. Etzkorn and her husband Jerry LaMori of Amsterdam, N.Y.; a sister, Jeannine Salter of Freeport, N.Y.; 22 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, William and Robert and three sisters, Evelyn, Eileen and Dorothy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, 9:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Delmar. Relatives and friends are also invited to call Thursday 4 to 7 p.m. at the Tebbutt Funeral Home, 420 Kenwood Avenue, Delmar. The family would like to thank the Delmar Rescue Squad for all their efforts over the past few years.
