Walker, Edward J.
WEST SAND LAKE - Edward J. Walker, 78 of West Sand Lake, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at the Evergreen Commons surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Charles and Esther Robinson Walker Sr. and the loving husband to the late Anne (Nancy) Jeffs Walker.
Mr. Walker retired from N.Y.S.O.G.S. after many years of service. He was a member of the Schodack Senior Center and the Green Island Senior Center.
Ed was an avid fan of the N.Y. Giants and Mets. He enjoyed observing nature from his chair out on his deck, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his children, Karen Walker (James), Denise (Patrick) Walker Morin, and Robert (Laurie) Walker; his granddaughters, Brianna and Jordyn Morin; and his sister, Annmarie Burke. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Mary Walker, Mary Catherine Campbell, and Margaret (Robert) Walsh; his brother-in-law, George (Joann) Jeffs; several loving nieces and nephews; and his best friend, William Lockhart. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his brother, Charles Walker II.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, Troy with Deacon Charles Wojton officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call on Monday from 4 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
