Gary Abreu Obituary

Abreu, Gary S. "Egor" COHOES Gary S. "Egor" Abreu, 63, of Cohoes passed away suddenly at Samaritan Hospital, Troy on Tuesday, October 17, 2017. Born in Troy, he graduated from Cohoes High School and was the son of the late Gabriell and Martina Sousa Abreu. He was a bus driver for Star and Strand in Troy. He retired from the Watervliet Arsenal after 30 years of service. He belonged to the Cohoes Rod & Gun Club, PAA in Cohoes, Barnstormers Snowmobile Club, Inc., Capital Area Mopar Club. He loved his GTX 440. He loved to ride snowmobiles, four wheelers and ride in his friend's boat. He loved playing with his two grandsons, who he adored. Husband of Barbara White Abreu of Cohoes; father of Vikki (Martin) Hood of Cohoes and Gary Abreu (Nona) of Cohoes; and "Papa" of Dean and Seth Hood. Best friend of Bobby "Digger" Durrant, also survived by several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held on Saturday, at 9 a.m. in the Dufresne Funeral Home, Inc., 216 Columbia St., Cohoes, with Reverend Brian Kelly officiating. The interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Cohoes. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. For directions and guest registry, www.dufresnefuneralhome.com.
