George was "The Best"! He was a great neighbor, very caring and always fun. There wasn't a day when he wouldn't offer me a glass of wine or Sambuca. I think he would he would have fed our family dinner on a minutes notice if we came home late or any reason he could find to offer us dinner. Even though we lived in Guilderland it always seemed liked we were close buds from an Old Albany neighborhood where neighbors were like family. You don't always get a neighbor as great as George but, we knew we were blessed.
I wonder if he has offered to pour God a drink or made him dinner yet? I'm guessing probably.

Dear Family of George Virgilio--1-24-11
My memories of George return miles back to Madison Avenue's South End where my family and I often visited with his family. My Mother, Concetta Tomaro Cicero and George were first cousins and the connection was always there.
George was always great to visit with. Not too long ago, I went to visit him with my Aunt Rose Tomaro Soffey. Although his vision was dimming, his hospitality and cooking skills were still very much in the forefront.
I will always remember George with the warmest of thoughts.
My sincere sympathy to all,
Frances (Cicero) LaPlaca

George was a wonderful person and will be missed by many people. His iconic presence at the "PUB" will always be a fond memory.George standing at the door of the Pub greating everyone by name was your entrance to fun. His amazing eggplant parmesean and sausage and peppers at summer pic-nics bring back fond memories. My late husband Bob (bubba) loved George like an uncle and had many laughs with him.
