John Hodkinson Obituary

Hodkinson, John EAST GREENBUSH John "Jack" Hodkinson, 60, died Monday, September 21, 2009 after a brief illness. Born in Brooklyn, he lived most of his life in and around Long Island. He was a Navy veteran of Vietnam. Jack worked as a printer most of his life, retiring after 24 years as production manager for Beyer Graphics in Commack, Long Island. He then moved to the Capital District and worked his passion of woodworking as a kitchen designer for Home Depot. In addition to being a master craftsman with wood, Jack enjoyed saltwater fish aquariums and vacations in the Caribbean. Predeceased by his father, John F. Hodkinson. Survivors include his beloved wife, Lois A. Hodkinson; one daughter, Kristen (Jason E.) Smith of Latham; one son, William J. Hodkinson of Lake Grove, Long Island, N.Y.; mother, Connie Hodkinson of North Badalon, Long Island; two sisters, Kathleen Zuzio of Mastic, Long Island and Patricia Albergo of Lake Ronkonkoma, Long Island; brother, William Hodkinson of Mt. Sinia, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Kyle and Lydia Smith. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Long Island, N.Y. Contributions in Jack's memory may be made to American Heart Assoc., 440 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.

I was deeply saddened to hear of the loss of "uncle Jack". My thoughts and prayers go out to Jack's entire family. I had the pleasure or working with Jack for the past couple of years. Jack was sincere, genuine, and always willing to go the extra mile to help whoever he could. Jack you will be missed but never forgotten!

Lo-Lo--

We are saddened deeply by the loss of Jack. Our entire family is thinking of you at this time, and hoping that you will find comfort in the memories of him and all that he was. Beloved Husband, Best Friend, A Cherished Brother and Brother-in-law, Proud Father, and a wonderful Grandfather. His loss is a great one, but the memories of him are far greater. Samantha and I send our love, thoughts, and prayers. We will miss him deeply, and remember him fondly.
