WATERFORD - Justin "Jerry" Driscoll Jr., 93, formerly of Waterford, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center.
Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Justin E. Driscoll Sr. and Helen Quigley Driscoll. Jerry was a 1948 graduate of Catholic Central High School and had been inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at the school. He had been employed for over 30 years as an insurance adjuster with Kemper Insurance Co. and retired in 1993. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Jerry was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Waterford and had served as an usher there. He was a former member of the Waterford Knights of Columbus. A golf enthusiast, he had won several championships at the Frear Park Golf Course in Troy. He enjoyed the Saratoga Race Track season each August and owned several horses.
Jerry was the loving husband of the late Justine O'Connor Driscoll who died in 2016. He was the devoted father of Justin E. Driscoll III (Susan) of Rye, Ellen Driscoll Gieschen (Nick) of St. Augustine, Fla. and Terence Driscoll (Michele) of Sherborn, Mass. He was the brother of the late John Q. Driscoll; the proud grandfather of John and Kathleen Driscoll, Molly Hudgins, Nicholas Gieschen III, Caitlin and Patrick Driscoll; and the great-grandfather of Hadley, Avery and Emmie. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass on Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 119 Broad St., Waterford. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterford. There will be no public calling hours.
