Kathy Taylor Obituary

Taylor, Kathy
CUMMING, Ga. - "Northern Born" and "Southern Refined."
We are heartbroken to share the passing of Kathy (Gregory) Taylor on Friday, December 20, 2024, at her daughter's home, in Georgia. Born in Colonie, on December 21, 1965, the youngest of six siblings. She was a beloved wife, mother, aunt, Grammy, sister and friend - who brightened our lives with creativity, kindness, spunk and love. Supporting her beloved husband, Bill, they moved from New York to Delaware in 1999, and then to the mountains of Georgia in 2003. They opened their home and welcomed everyone. They had a very special friendship with their neighbors, and Christmas decorating became a competition between them. Kathy held many employment positions throughout her life and was totally focused and committed to each of them. Her spare time was filled with a passion for hunting at camp, riding their four wheelers, going to the shooting range, going for long rides on their pontoon boat on Lake Lanier and working hard to maintain their home and property but most importantly spending time with her grandbabies. She had a deep respect for Mother Earth and the environment.
Sadly, Kathy lost the love of her life, Bill, on Friday, December 20, 2019. They were married on the Fourth of July in 2001. When they moved to Georgia, they would go to the lake and watch the fireworks from their boat on their anniversary. "Love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation."
Her children, Brian (Trinia) and Shelbie, will share stories of good times and reminisce about many major events from Kathy's life with their children, Avery, Jaime, Madison and Luna, to keep her memory strong.
Kathy also leaves behind siblings, Deb (Stephen), Brian (Theresa) and Sandra (Lew).
Predeceased by her parents, Bob and Joan; brothers, David and Bob; and her children's father, Gary.
"Go rest high on that mountain, your work on Earth is done."
