Michael Nass

Nass, Michael COLONIE Michael Nass, 70 of Colonie, passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Albany Medical Center due to injuries sustained in a fall at home. Michael was born in the Bronx. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lynn Parker and Murray Nass. Survivors are his wife of 33 years, Diane "Dee" Wilson Nass; his sister, Barbara Nass Coolen; his sister-in-law, Karen Wilson Bodine (George); his brother-in-law, Keith Wilson (Noreen); cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as many friends and extended family. He attended SUNY Geneseo where he met the love of his life, Dee. Mike retired from Hudson Valley Auto Club after 33 years. Always ready with a joke, good or bad, Michael also relished time outdoors. Next to being with family and friends, his "Happy Place" was behind a set of drums. Mike's knowledge of music was extensive, but playing drums was his passion. He played with multiple local bands, the longest with "The Peaceful Country Band." Mike always said to put "he never missed a beat" on his headstone. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, August 11, from 1 - 3 p.m. at the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home Inc., 165 Columbia Tpke., Rensselaer. The funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. COVID-19 protocols will be followed (masks for all). In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society or your local food bank.
