Raymond Norton Obituary
PITTSTOWN - Raymond F. "Ray" Norton, 82, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Van Rensselaer Manor Nursing Home.
Ray was born in Troy, the son of Homer Norton and Marion (Brenenstuhl) Norton. He ran the Norton Family Dairy farm his whole life. Ray was a life member and past treasurer of the Pittstown Fire Dept. and a life member of the Pittstown Methodist Church. Ray enjoyed playing cards and going to casinos, and was an avid bowler, appearing on TV Tournament Time, a show about bowling. He enjoyed snowmobiles, and three-wheelers, and was a licensed pilot, most noted for flying his ultralight all over northern Rensselaer County.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Louise Betts; nephew, Robert Betts; and niece June Betts. Survivors include sisters, Betty (George) Wagner, and Nancy (Gilbert) Riberdy; brother-in-law, Edward Betts; aunt, Barbara Breen; and uncle, Frank Brenenstuhl. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Sunday from 12-2 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. in the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpke., Rensselaer. Interment will be in the spring in the Elmwood Cemetery, Schaghticoke.
Contributions in Ray's memory may be made to the Pittstown Fire Dept., 134 Parker School Rd., Johnsonville, NY, 12094, or Parkinson's Foundation.

Sorry to learn of Mr Nortons passing.Its been awhile since I had seen him.In the brief time I got to know him I learned a lot about cows and farming,just from getting hay.May he R.I.P

Nancy And Betty and family, I will always remember flying with Ray. It was my first flight and we hhad fun. He had a dry sense of humor but was a really nice guy.

My condolences on the loss of your brother Betty and Nancy!!! I always enjoyed my visits to the farm and talking with Ray about his guinea pigs, bowling or what ever. He had the driest sense of humor of anyone I havevever known. May he rest in eternal peace.
