Raymond Wilson Obituary

Wilson, Raymond J. ALTAMONT Raymond J. Wilson, 86 of Altamont, passed away on December 28, 2020, at his home surrounded by those he loved. Ray was born in Mariaville, N.Y. on August 3, 1934, the son of Lester and Ida (Jump) Wilson. He graduated from Cobleskill High School and subsequently enlisted in the U.S. Army serving in Korea and Japan. Ray graduated from Royal Barber School and had a barbershop at Osborne Corners for 35 years. He was a member of VFW Hilderbrand Davis Post 1895. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Bob, Andrew (Emma) and Leroy (Barbara); and sisters, Mabel (Leonard) and Lilly. Ray is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anna; his sons, Dave (Anne), Joe (Janet), and Ed; and daughter Nancy (Blair). Ray is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and dear friends. A graveside service will be planned for the spring. Donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
