ROTTERDAM - Robert "Bob" B. Guillaume, age 73, died unexpectedly on July 7, 2023.
Bob was born in Buffalo to the late Wilfred and Dorothy (Gunthrup) Guillaume. Robert spent his adult life in the Capital District. As a child, he and his family followed his dad along to various military bases including Puerto Rico, Texas and the Dakotas.
Bob was an architect at kW Mission Critical Engineering since 2015. Prior to that, he worked at EYP as an architect from 1976 until the mid-2000s.
Bob loved spending time with his daughter and granddaughter, playing golf with his friends (The Loopers), listening to music, and going out to dinner. He and Cathy enjoyed traveling, going to concerts and stand-up comedians. He never met a game of trivia he could not win.
Bob married his high school sweetheart, Susan (Berghela) Guillaume, and was married to her for 47 years until her passing in 2014. He then married Cathy Stealey-Ayala in 2017. He has one daughter, Amy (Guillaume) Conway, age 55, and one granddaughter, Emily Conway, age 22. He is also survived by three brothers, John, Chuck and Rick Guillaume.
Family and friends are invited and may call on Monday, July 17, from 10 - 11:30 a.m. at the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue. Burial will immediately follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie. Please feel free to not wear black. Bob never wore black and in fact loved pinks and blues and greens. Following the burial, everyone is welcome at the Troy Beer Garden, 2 King St., Troy, for food, drinks and the sharing of funny Bob stories.
