Robert Weeden Obituary

Weeden, Robert WATERVLIET Robert "Bob" Weeden, 56, died unexpectedly on Friday, December 2, 2011. Born in Troy, he was the son of Mary Kirchner Weeden and the late Robert Weeden. Bob was educated in Troy public schools and was employed initially by Portec Steel in South Troy and more recently by Albany Steel, Inc. in Menands where he was employed for over 20 years. Bob loved the outdoors and at different times in his life enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. He was the father of Robert Weeden of Waterford and Mary Baldwin of Wynantskill; grandfather of five grandchildren; brother of Barbara, Karen, Albert, David and Diane; dear friend and companion of Martha L. Hughes of Watervliet and her children, Heather and Nicole Nicholson and Michael and Joseph Hughes and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 6 p.m. in the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet. Interment will be private. Family and friends are invited and may also visit on Sunday from 4 until 6 p.m., prior to the service. Contributions, in Bob's memory, may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105. To the Weeden family, Bob was a great guy. We were good friends when we were younger. I haven't seen him since january of '75. He was one of the people I knew. Always made me laugh. We had alot of adventures and some misadventures. From time to time I will tell folks here a story or two about our youth. His personna has never left me. God Bless his family. Bob was the only grandfather I ever had. It won't be the same without him. He always made the pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving & I'd help :)

Wish I could be there for the family. I am so sad to know that my brother is gone. I am glad to know that Bob had a life filled with love and happiness. I am also relieved that he did not suffer. Bob will never be forgotten. I will think of him often and remember all the fun we had while growing up. RIP
