My condolences to the family of Dr Shapiro. I, just a few days ago learned of his passing and wanted to pay my respects. I started working in Urgent Care at Kaiser Panorama City in 1989 and met Dr Shapiro when he would periodically work evening shifts in the Emergency Walk In area 101. He always had a smile and a kind word for the nurses and I am happy to have known him .He was a great Infectious Disease doctor and loved by all; not only his patients but his Kaiser family.

Doctor Shapiro was my personal physician since I first tested positive for HIV, in 1991. I could not have asked for a better doctor. From the very beginning, he always treated me with the greatest of respect and consideration. He never spoke down to me and always spent as much time as necessary to deal with any concerns, both medically and personally, I may have had. We were born just days apart, in 1949, and shared a great camaraderie. I will miss him terribly.

A great testament to his quality and expertise as a physician is clearly evident by the fact that, after 28 years of working together, I am, at the age of 71, still here and in excellent health. My gratitude will be everlasting.

My sincere condolences go out to the Doctor's family and friends, as well to his wonderful and caring staff, both current and past. Wishing you loving memories to forever hold in your heart. - Shalom

I worked with Stan, during my many years at Kaiser, in infection prevention and control. He was such a delight and our champion. I have so much respect and admiration for Stan. I am deeply saddened by his passing.

Stan was the strongest supporter and most constant presence for Kaiser’s national infection prevention peer group (nurses). He was brilliant and funny and compassionate and passionate. I loved him as did my colleagues. He was one in a million and will be truly missed ❤
