Stephen McQuade Obituary

McQuade, Stephen COHOES Stephen McQuade passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 30, 2021, at his home in Cohoes, he was just 54 years of age. Born in Albany on December 16, 1966, he was the son of the late James and Kathleen (Thornton) McQuade. After High School he attended Florida Southern University to play baseball. Stephen was a diehard and long-suffering New York Jets fan and wore the Green and White with pride. He was also an avid horseracing fan and was a regular at the Saratoga race course. He enjoyed going to the track very early in the mornings to walk the grounds and take in the beautiful sites. Stephen was also a wonderful cook and loved preparing meals for others. Survivors include his much-loved daughters, Riley and Bayley McQuade; and his brothers, James (Teresa) and Mark McQuade; his nephew Matthew; niece Rachel; and multiple cousins whom he loved. You are our brother and our friend. We'll miss you now until our end. Say Hi to Mom and Dad as we trust in God to see you again. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Very very sad to hear this news of Steve's passing. I was Steve's boss at his first St. Peter's Hospital job as a Collecton Rep. Thru his years as he moved about to different positions and different places, we kept up a friendship. We had great respect for one another and he knew he could count on me as an advocate for his work ethic. We spoke thru the passing of his Mom and Dad, thru his move back to NY, and thru the office changes at SPHP. Occasionally, we'd catch up on FB messenger. I am so saddened to hear of his passing. He was a good hearted person and as loyal to me as his first SPH boss and I was loyal to him. To his family, my condolences. I know he loved the track and the horses. I will hold the thought that he's raced one of those thoroughbreds straight thru the pearly gates of heaven to a peace filled existence in the afterlife. Godspeed.
