JAN DAVIS

DAVIS Jan Carter (Evans) Davis, 89 went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, July 14, 2012. She was born on March 31, 1923 in Watertown, Florida to James Floyd and Bertha Carter. Married to Robert J. Davis for 54 years, they had 5 children. Jan spent her life as a Navy Wife and a Media Buyer. She had a love for planting and spending time in her yard. Jan was predeceased in death by her husband, Robert J. Davis and three sons (Jimmy, Joe, and David). Jan is survived by her son, John C. Davis (Mary Lou), daughter, Laura Anderson and daughter-in-law Lynn Davis; grandchildren, Jim, Brad, John, Scott (Sara), Wendy (Mac), Kevin, Charlie, Daniel, Nicole, Kelly, Kim (Mike), and Ricky (Marcy); great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Maxwell, Maddie, John Jr., Elisha, Elizabeth, Joseph, Emily, Channing (Paul), Josh (Jenai), Molly (David), Madelyn, Allie, Noah, C.J., Brandon (Scheri), Mikayla, Jason, Stevee, and Tonee; great-great grandchildren, Isiah, Arick, Bella, and Michael Wesley, Grayson and Addysen; sister-in-law, Pauline Carter; niece, Joyce; nephew, William and host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Jan is also survived by a special man, Glenn Evans, whom she married in the eyes of God before her family and friends; devoted friends, Bonnie, Donna, and Suzanne and Guardian Angel Beatrice Mayhew. Jan had such a love for life and a spunky spirit. Her love for family and friends was immeasurable. Memorial service will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 5:30 pm at Kirkwood Presbyterian Church, 8701 Argyle Forest Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida 32244. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in her memory to N.E. Florida Community Hospice, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
