I spoke with Jihan the morning of oct 22, I never thought that it would have been the last time i would speak with her. we have had some good times in Tampa, and even better times talking over the phone. I went to Ed White with Jihan and I remember us always cracking jokes together whether it was in class or in the halls there was never a dull moment around her. She was a great spirit to be around. Even though we havent talked or seen each other since high school I was and still devastated to hear that she, and her father are no longer here on this earth with us. My heart goes out to the family of Jihan and Charles Borders. Jihan and I worked well together and shared many laughs daily in our classroom before her passing. She was a friend and a unique person. I miss her and I'm very sad that she had to leave us the way that she did.

I had the pleasure of working with Jihan when i went over to citi's Bright Horizon to work there on my spilt, she was a great teacher and a great person she had such a great spirit about her every time i went to work over there i always asked to work in the room she was in cause i loved working with them. and I know we only worked together for a short time but i am going to really miss her she made me feel as if i was a staff member there she made me feel comfortable and i thank her for that.... Our hearts go out to the loved ones of this family in there time of grief. I remember me and my brothers playing with Jihan and Charles in the back woods of Pickett were we all grew up. My parents were very close to Mr. Charles during my childhood years. As we got older we lost touch with the Borders family, however, it is still saddening to hear of a tradgey occuring in a friends life. I am truly speachless. Jihan lived right next door to me growing up. We went to the same school together. We were pregnant together. Both of our children are the same age, just days apart. We did everything together. If we ever lost contact with each other she would come to my moms house to get my new number and i would go see Mr. Charles for hers. My heart hurt daily since the news. Jihan and I grew up together in the same neighborhood , attended the same elementary and middle school and we cheered for Bobbie Clark park (she didn't want anyone to know that). I have nothing but great memories of her and out time together. After high school we lost touch but hearing the news of her death took my breathe away. Jihan I don't know where to start...you were my girl..we shared so many happy moments, worries, and yet so many laughs! I love you girl and you and I clicked since the first day of training. We joked thru out the whole thing..I remember most about touching your big belly and telling you about how badly I wanted a baby too. I was in shock when I read the news I spent many of years around Jihan and Mr. Borders while in high school. When things got tense she was the one to make everyone laugh by breaking the ice and he always gave out good advice. I am honor to have had the pleasure of meeting and knowing this family, and to you Charles we never know why things happen but do remember if God brought it to you he will carry you thru it.I will continue to up lift your family and you in my prayers.

I had the opportunity to work with her a few years back and I can only think of a smile a special kind of smile, Jihan's smile it's almost like it was her trademark. She will be greatly missed. I knew Jihan since 6th grade and this is just so sad because she was such a good person. Even though I lost contact with her after I joined the military I always asked her brother Charles how she was doing. When I seen this story online I just couldn't believe something so horrible could happen to such a great person. I know you are in a better place and we are just going to keep praying for Charles and your two daughters...You will always be in me and Jett prayers and thoughts Jihan...RIP

Jihan was my daughters teacher and she had a special way with the kids. She had a great spirit and my daughter loved her. My heart goes out to her family and friends who have lost a very special person.

Jihan Borders
I have known Jihan since Ed White on the same baketball team. Plenty of memories. One I can recall is playing around in practice and coach Adams was so serious, messing with her joking we both got in trouble. Coach Adams cussed both of us out. Man those was the great days in high school. She was a clown. Very funny. Im honored to have meet a very special intelligent person. So many memories, we lost contact girl in 06. I was hurt when I got that call, you can't imagine what was going through my head. All I could do was break down and cry and pray it wasn't so. Jihan, you will always be in my heart and prayers. Someone I could truely call a friend, Jihan Borders. Love You Sis

To the family of Jihan Borders, I was in disbelief when I heard about what happened. I remember Jihan being a sweet and funny person from school and playing basketball(she was a mess). Mr. Borders would be at all the games cheering her on and Charles(brother)would be there sometimes too. To be around the two of them would make you feel so comfortable because of their down to earth personalities. My prayers and thoughts are with the family during this hard time. Jihan was my son's teacher, he called her "My Ms. Jihan" She always had a smile on her face and open arms with a hug for my son. We loved her dearly, even though we haven't known her for very long. You couldn't help but like Jihan, she had such a sweet and gentle spirit. It was a great shock to learn of this tragedy. She will be greatly missed, but will be forever in our hearts. May God bless her family and may you comfort each other in this difficult time.

Jihan I know that you are in a better place. I lost contact with you when we graduated but I still remember you to this day. The weight lifting class we had together was so much fun. To the family you all remain stronger for she is gone but not forgotten, and I will keep you all in my prays.
