Dear Empress,
My dearest sister in Jah. I have never in my life lost a friend. I find comfort when I think of your smile and sincere heart. You always deserved the best. You'll always be a queen. Your death will never be in vein. We have great works to do still. Travis and I love you so much. It's awkward without you here. We have to begin our publication in your honor. My sister, you've given me so much in such a short time. You've taught me to live in spite of my circustances. You're so positve, so beautiful, graceful, and loving. You're the only sister I've ever had. I looked up to you so much, admiring your strength and your poise. You were a diamond in the rough. Now that you are with The Most High, I pray for your presence to always be with me. I know He has you in His loveing arms. Smile upon us, Empress. I miss you endlessly. I want to be there for your daughters. Keep living through all of us who love you without an agenda. I'll always pray for your family. Thank you for seeking righteousness with me. I must continue this journey. I'll join you someday at the right hand of God. You, my love, my friend, my sister in the Lord, will always be a part of me. Upon knowlege of losing you, God gave us a gift. He has blessed Kofi and I with a pregnancy. Somehow I believe that you and God are up to something. You knew my thoughts and prayers. You told me to be patient. You assured me that soon we'd be parents. Thank you. You were an awesome mother. I've always admired your interaction with your girls. They adored you. Be with me, Jihan. Guide me in my plight of motherhood. I have so much I want to tell you. My heart is so full. I miss you so much. If only you could hear me. The Most High will always protect your girls. He has favor on their lives. Your mother, brother, and sisters will prosper in The Name of The MOST HIGH. Who never places an unbearable burdent on his children. Enjoy your freedom, dwell in peace, allow up all to continuously feel your love.

Righteous Peace and Godly Glory,
Your sister and friend, Alicia Asare

To the Borders Family,
Our hearts go out to the loved ones of this family in there time of grief. I remember me and my brothers playing with Jihan and Charles in the back woods of Pickett were we all grew up. My parents were very close to Mr. Charles during my childhood years. As we got older we lost touch with the Borders family, however, it is still saddening to hear of a tradgey occuring in a friends life. We always remember the Borders' be a loving and welcoming family. The family will be in our prays.

To the Borders family,

I am truly speachless. Jihan lived right next door to me growing up. We went to the same school together. We were pregnant together. Both of our children are the same age, just days apart. We did everything together. If we ever lost contact with each other she would come to my moms house to get my new number and i would go see Mr. Charles for hers. My heart hurt daily since the news. Jihan was always a sweet person and will truly be missed. I pray her children will be able to remember there mother as the beautiful, smart, kind and caring person she was. My condoelences go out to you. If there is ever anything i can do please let me know.

God is very real and he is in the presence of Jihan and her father. I would like to extend my prayers and thoughts to my friends' family. I attended FCCJ Downtown campus with Jihan and I can truly say I met a sister instead of a friend. I remember how she laughed and how shy she was, so she would cover her face. Jihan and I grew up together in the same neighborhood , attended the same elementary and middle school and we cheered for Bobbie Clark park (she didn't want anyone to know that). I have nothing but great memories of her and out time together. After high school we lost touch but hearing the news of her death took my breathe away. Jihan I don't know where to start...you were my girl..we shared so many happy moments, worries, and yet so many laughs! I love you girl and you and I clicked since the first day of training. We joked thru out the whole thing..I remember most about touching your big belly and telling you about how badly I wanted a baby too. It finally happened and you didn't get to see her..my pain is unbearable but I know you would want me to stay strong and make a joke..I will never forget the times you made me laugh and the times you were there when I cried. There were a lot of things left unsaid when I left the company but that was ok because we had such a connection. You are an angel and I love you. I'm going to miss your smile it always cracked me up!!

Words can not express the way I feel and felt for Jihan. We shared 4 great years as "Best Friends" in high school. She was a spirit that kept you smiling and laughing at all times. For a beautiful, smart, caring person to leave us so soon is a great detriment to all that had the privilege to be in her presence. Even though her earthly form has perished her spirit will live among us through her beautiful kids. I love you dear friend.

I was in shock when I read the news I spent many of years around Jihan and Mr. Borders while in high school. When things got tense she was the one to make everyone laugh by breaking the ice and he always gave out good advice. I am honor to have had the pleasure of meeting and knowing this family, and to you Charles we never know why things happen but do remember if God brought it to you he will carry you thru it.I will continue to up lift your family and you in my prayers.

My god carry you thru this

I knew Jihan since 6th grade and this is just so sad because she was such a good person. Even though I lost contact with her after I joined the military I always asked her brother Charles how she was doing. When I seen this story online I just couldn't believe something so horrible could happen to such a great person. I know you are in a better place and we are just going to keep praying for Charles and your two daughters...You will always be in me and Jett prayers and thoughts Jihan...RIP

Jihan Borders
I have known Jihan since Ed White on the same baketball team. Plenty of memories. One I can recall is playing around in practice and coach Adams was so serious, messing with her joking we both got in trouble. Coach Adams cussed both of us out. Man those was the great days in high school. She was a clown. Very funny. Im honored to have meet a very special intelligent person. So many memories, we lost contact girl in 06. I was hurt when I got that call, you can't imagine what was going through my head. All I could do was break down and cry and pray it wasn't so. Jihan, you will always be in my heart and prayers. Someone I could truely call a friend, Jihan Borders. Love You Sis

To the family of the late Mr. Charles and Jihan Borders

To the family of Jihan Borders, I was in disbelief when I heard about what happened. I remember Jihan being a sweet and funny person from school and playing basketball(she was a mess). Mr. Borders would be at all the games cheering her on and Charles(brother)would be there sometimes too. To be around the two of them would make you feel so comfortable because of their down to earth personalities. My prayers and thoughts are with the family during this hard time. But God is there for everyone of you and will help see you through this. Should you need anything feel free to contact me.

Jihan was my son's teacher, he called her "My Ms. Jihan" She always had a smile on her face and open arms with a hug for my son. We loved her dearly, even though we haven't known her for very long. You couldn't help but like Jihan, she had such a sweet and gentle spirit. It was a great shock to learn of this tragedy. She will be greatly missed, but will be forever in our hearts. May God bless her family and may you comfort each other in this difficult time.

Dara and Family,
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your daughter. I will be praying for your strength to make it through the very difficult time. I know it doesn't feel like it now, but believe me, God will not put more on you than you can handle. He still loves and cares for all of you. Continue to have faith in God, that He is Still in Control.
