Diane and Renee,
I was going through my Saturn of Regency memoirs and came across two very nice e-notes that Pete wrote to me as I took care of "his girls" during their car purchase.
The first was for Diane when she purchased a Large Saturn Wagon and the second was a nice pre-owned vehicle for Renee.
I was always struck by the fact that Pete lived the life of a caring father and husband. It has often been said that sometimes the only Bible people will read is our own testimony. Pete carried that challenge everywhere he went.
Thank you for leaving this Guest Book open. My prayers are with both of you and your family as you approach the first holiday without Pete.

Although I have only seen Pete a couple times since I moved away six years ago, I have often thought of Pete because of how instrumental he was in my coming back to the Catholic faith. He truly was a fisher of men. I was the prodigal son who was discerning my return to the Catholic faith when I met Pete. Pete helped me through a troubled time in my past and in my marriage. Through Cursillo Pete led me on a path back to the Church and I have never turned back. I missed the chance to say goodbye, but he will always be in my prayers.

It was with great sadness that we just discovered through CaringBridge of Pete’s passing. We feel so sad. Even though we lost touch with Pete, Jean and I greatly appreciated and loved his kindness to us through the years. We loved Pete and Diane. May God provide Diane and her family with comfort and peace. Pete’s family will always be in our prayers. We will strive to live long and loving lives to honor Pete’s memory.

I have been blessed to know Peter for about 40 years throughout our mutal careers at DuPont. We have several fond memories of Pete and Diane from our early times we worked together. Dear Royal Family
I first met Pete in a sales seminar I led in Chicago Ill many years ago.
He was truly one of the good guys. We worked in different divisions with DuPont and saw each other infrequently. But he was always cordial and Friendly.
It is so sad that he has passed, but you can take comfort that he is in the Lords arms.

I just heard last night about Pete's passing. Although I don't know Pete, I feel as if I do. All the brothers have been praying for him for the past year at our weekly Monday Frat Nights in St. Augustine. To The Royal Family,
Our deepest sympathy to the Royal Family. We met Peter at Positively Fit Gym where he was an active and loyal member. We wished we had more time to have spent with him, but God needed him more.
Peter was always smiling and a joy to be around. He lead by example and will be duly missed. We will continue to lift up prayers on behalf of the entire Royal Family.

I came to know Pete from years of attending the gym at the YMCA. It was there that I also met Diane and his daughter Julie. I always admired Pete. Even though he was older than me, he was always in better shape than I was. He was also devoted to his family and faith. To Diane and Julie, my heart and prayers.

I will never forget Pete, His great smile and his determination. He always stood for what was good and honest. He was a great man of integrity and a positive role model for all men young and old. I know when my son made his Cursillo weekend, Pete took him under his wing and gave him his time and shared his great love of God.... It was with great sadness that I learned of Pete's passing. He was in my prayers everyday and while I will miss him, he is now at peace with our Lord. Pete was a caring, considerate, kind and gentle soul and if a man's wealth can be attributted to the number of people who loved him then Pete was truly a wealthy man. Against the Tide
Against the tide I paddle.
Head pounds, body aches.
An internal whisper calls me onward.
The awe of the journey
Is a paradox of both pain and joy.
Mid tide pushes stronger,
a silent force seemingly intent on
thwarting my mission.
The rhythmic strokes of my paddle
are relentless, moving the kayak
forward at a(n) ever slowing pace.
Nature seems unaware, as birds on the banks
focus to catch their next meal.
And nervous waters surround passing by oyster bank
foretell of reds below.
The whisper grows louder, like a
cox(s)wain call to a crew of one.
The call is my mantra.
Nothing else matters.
Time becomes timeless,
on the winding creek on which I travel.
A gentle breeze cautions me not to
anticipate what is around the next bend.

Diane and all the Royals, I can't begin to tell you how much Pete is missed already. Thankfully, we have 45 years of some of the best memories possible. As hard as this is, I am sure we are going to laugh a lot over the next few days as we recall them. I know you know this, but you and the kids will be a part of our 'Duke Family' forever! Pete and I worked together at Dupont for close to 40 years. We follow similar paths and were in sales most of our careers. We were always in different parts of the country but met often at a variety of meetings over the years. I have many special memories of our times together but one stands out above all. Many years it was common for us to have sales meetings over the weekends. Pete and I often found ourselves in Mass together during those meetings. Going to church and Mass was a priority to both of us. On one Palm Sunday we both walked out of church with palms in our hands. Pete looked at me and suggested we put them in our suitcases and carry them with us when ever we traveled. I still have two of them in my suit case and will keep them forever as a reminder of Pete. He was a GOOD MAN and I know he will be missed, but not forgotten by many. Jerry Pater
