FRANCIS MITCHELL Obituary
He was a business owner of Mitchells Service Station and Auto Parts, in Mansfield, beginning his career in 1950. He was a veteran of World War II, an active member in Holy Child Church and the Knights of Columbus.
He was born Aug. 10 1925, in Morris Run, the son of Stella and William Mitchell
He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Erma Louise (Heater; a son, James D. Mitchell; a granddaughter, Janie Starkweather; a brother, Henry Mitchell and sister, Ceil Malone. Francis is survived by two sons and two daughters, Francis Jr. and wife Kate of "The Villages" Florida, Linda Kaminski of Wellsboro, Betty Jo Cole of Pittsburgh, Kenneth Mitchell and wife Lori of Mansfield, and a daughter-in-law, Sylvia Mitchell of Bishop, Texas. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren as well as five brothers and three sisters.
Friends and family are invited to call at Holy Child Catholic Church, S. Main St., Mansfield from 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, May 25. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow there Friday at noon with Fr. Michael Bryant, his nephew, celebrant. Burial will be in St Joseph's Cemetery, Morris Run.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 57 N Franklin St. Wilkes-Barre, Pa. 18701. Sympath"e" cards may be sent to Francis' family at www.wilstonfuneralhome.com.
