Mrs. Anna S. Kmetz

Mrs. Anna S. "Amy" Kmetz, 95, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest on Friday, Jan. 20, 2023, in the St. Luke's Hospital, Miners Campus, Coaldale. She was the widow of Joseph Kmetz, who passed away on Aug. 6, 2003.

She was a homemaker.

Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late George and Anna (Michalic) Svok.

She was a member of St. John Slovak Lutheran Church, Lansford, and a former member of the Hauto Fire Company Ladies' Auxiliary.

The deceased was a 1945 graduate of Coaldale High School, where she was the salutatorian and a drum majorette.

She served on the Carbon County Board of Elections and was a participant in the Senior Olympics.

Anna loved playing bingo, doing word jumbles and watching the Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State Nittany Lions.

Surviving are a daughter Ginger, wife of Thomas Pituch of Aurora, OH; three sons, Joseph Jr., and his wife, Eileen, of Lake Hauto, Kenneth, and his wife, Mary, of Lehighton, and John of Media; three sisters, Valeria Butts and Elizabeth Schneck, both of Bethlehem, and Eleanor Holland of Mohnton; a brother George Svok, and his wife, Linda, in New Hampshire; two grandchildren, Gregory Pituch, and his wife, Sarah, and Thomas Michael Pituch III; five great-grandchildren, Michael, Miranda, Leah, Lydia and Hannah Pituch; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Olga Svok and Amelia Lisella.

Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, St. John Slovak Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford, with Pastor Marjorie Keiter officiating. Interment, Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown.
