Barbara Swierczek Obituary

Barbara L. Swierczek

Barbara "Barb" Luise (Marzen) Swierczek, 69, of King of Prussia, crossed the Jordan on Friday, Nov. 24, 2023. The cause of death was lung complications from an autoimmune disease.

Born in Lehighton, she was a daughter of Edward and Helen Marzen.

Barb graduated from Sacred Heart School of Nursing in 1975.

She was a member of St. John Crysostom Catholic Church, Wallingford.

Barb was a homemaker.

Barb is survived by Stan, her husband of 48 years, and their six children: son Michael, and his wife, Heather, and their children, Cole, Steven, Aurora and Ella, of Pottstown, daughter Julie of St. Leonard, MD, son Peter and son Stan, both of Tucson, AZ, son Luke of Cresco and son John of Harrisburg.

Barb is also survived by her parents, Ed and Helen Marzen of Lehighton; a brother, Ed, and his wife, Cathy, of Andreas; a brother, Mike, and his wife, Mary, of Jim Thorpe; a brother, John, and his wife, Bernadette, of Lehighton; a brother, Carl, and his wife, Mary, of Lehighton; and a sister, Diane of Allentown.

Memorial Mass 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, St. Joseph Catholic Church of the Panther Valley, 462 W. Ludlow St., Summit Hill. Interment, SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, 600 E. White St., Summit Hill. Call 10-11 a.m. Saturday in the church. Barb requested that family and friends wear bright colors to her funeral in celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontieres or the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Sorry for your loss. I know Barbara will be joining Marybeth in heaven. I just hope heaven is ready for those two to be together again if it´s anything like when they were in nursing school.

We are so sorry to hear of Barb´s passing. We looked forward to her annual Christmas letter each year and I saved them all. I used to tell her she was a better writer than Erma Bombeck! What a great sense of humor. May she rest in peace
