Bryan Dorshimer Obituary

Bryan Dorshimer Sr.

Bryan Dorshimer Sr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather and community servant, passed away peacefully on Aug. 16, 2025, at the age of 73.

Born to the late Harold and Elinore Dorshimer, Bryan is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Susan (Donello); his sister, Cynthia (Robert) Snyder; his three children, Lisa (Heath) Robinson, Bryan (Lyndsey) Dorshimer and Jaime (Craig) Fenstermaker; and his seven adored grandchildren, Hannah, Dylan, Jake, Samantha, Peter, Noah and Liam.

A proud 1969 graduate of Slatington High School, Bryan went on to serve our country in the United States Coast Guard for four years at Floyd Bennett Field, N.Y., where he was a member of the helicopter search and rescue team.

His dedication to service extended far beyond the military. He was a committed member of the Northern Lehigh School Board and took great pride in managing the Slatington pool at Victory Park, always working to enrich his community.

For more than 40 years, Bryan worked in engineering support for Kraft Foods in Fogelsville. His expertise took him across the country to many Kraft facilities, where he served as a troubleshooter, helping improve operations and productivity.

Bryan and Susan raised their family in Slatington, in the home he and his father lovingly built. His devotion to family, his strong sense of duty, and his love for working around the homestead shaped the legacy he leaves behind.

In retirement, Bryan and Susan relocated to Hilton Head Island, S.C., where they created countless memories with their children and grandchildren - whether walking the beach at sunrise, biking the island trails or boating to Daufuskie Island. Of all his accomplishments, Bryan's greatest joy was his family. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, proudly supporting them in their sports, studies and endeavors.

His life was marked by love, loyalty and service, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In memory of Bryan, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org. Islandfuneralhome.com.
