Eugene E. "Jim" Miller
Eugene E. "Jim" Miller, 88, of Slatington, passed away early Wednesday morning, Nov. 30 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest. He was the loving husband of the late Luella E. (Schleicher) Miller.
Born on Feb. 8, 1928, he was the son of the later Ethel I. (Roth) Reppert and Warren E. Miller. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the 304th Signal Battalion, serving from 1946-47 in Japan. He retired from the American Nickeloid Co. in Walnutport in 1993, after being employed there since 1969.
Born and raised in Rextown, Washington Township, he worked with his wife, Luella, on remodeling an 1872 two-room schoolhouse for their home where they lived for 66 years. Eugene was an avid deer hunter, carpenter and enjoyed working outdoors. He was a member of Good Shepherd U.C.C. of Slatington, Copeechan Fish and Gun Club, Slatington Skeet Club, and Slatedale and Emerald fire companies.
Survivors include two daughters, Regina L., wife of John R. Perich, and Bonita E. Hewitt, wife of Robert C. Shelly; three grandchildren, Janelle R. Perich, wife of James Buzinski, Troy J. Perich and Matthew D. Hewitt; and great-grandson, Jakob J. Buzinski. He was predeceased by his wife; sisters, Bernetta Kidd and Romaine E. Remaley; and brother, John F. Reppert Jr.
Services: Funeral service 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church, 3940 Mountain Road, Slatington. Call from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church. The Rev. James D. Robinson Jr. will officiate. Internment will be at Slatedale Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Kevin E. Hunsicker Funeral Home Inc., Slatedale.
Contributions may be made to the church, P.O. Box 68, Slatedale, PA 18079.

Gina, Bonnie and Family, I am so sorry to hear of dads passing may the memories you have of him put you at peace in the coming days and weeks. My heart is heavy for all of you at this time. I will always hold dear to my heart all the times I spent with Aunt Luella and Uncle Jim as well as with both of you my cousins. They always treated me like one of their own. So many summers spent their growing up, swimming, picnics, sleep overs all cherished memories. RIP Uncle Jim you are now reunited with Aunt Luella..
