Joseph Hollan Obituary
Joseph Bernard "Jersey Joe" Hollan Jr., 68, of Tamaqua, who grew up in Coaldale, died Wednesday in Coaldale. He was the husband of Evelyn (O'Gorman) Hollan, whom he married Sept. 23, 1989.
A mason by trade, he was also employed as a psychiatric aide at Wernersville State Hospital.
Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late Joseph B. Hollan Sr. and Linda (Gerber) Adamitis.
Protestant by faith, he was a member of the Beaver Run Rod and Gun Club, Lehighton. He loved motorcycles, guns and hunting.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are five sons, Joseph Hollan III of Lansford, Jason Hollan of Brockton, Daniel Hollan of Lansford, Christopher Huegel of Hometown and Travis Huegel of Tamaqua; two daughters, Katrina Hollan of Lansford and Susan Bettis of Barnesville; numerous grandchildren; one great grandchild; a sister, Linda Krell of Coaldale; several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Zonka.
Service: 10 a.m., Monday, Zizelmann-Roche Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, with the Rev. Kevin Roberts officiating. Interment, Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown. Call 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday or 9-10 a.m., Monday. Memorials in his name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 101 W. Frack St., Frackville, PA 17931. Online condolences at www.zrgfuneralhomes.com.
