Joyce Gower Obituary
Joyce Mae Gower, 69, of Saylorsburg, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg. She was the loving wife of Bruce Gower.
Born on March 17, 1955, at home in Saylorsburg, she was a daughter of the late Luther Hoffner and the late Elizabeth "Betty" (Edge) Hoffner.
Joyce was an administrative secretary at Pleasant Valley School District for 30 years.
She was also a member of the Kunkletown Historical Society.
Most of all, she was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend. Joyce will be deeply missed by all her friends and family.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Matt Gower, and his wife, Staci; two brothers, Joe Hoffner, and his wife, Helen, and Don Hoffner; two grandchildren, Molly Gower and Jaxson Gower; a sister-in-law Jalene, wife of Jeffrey Keiser; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by three brothers, Luther "Dute" Hoffner, William Hoffner and Arlington "Bud" Hoffner.
Service: Funeral service noon Monday, March 10, Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Rt. 209, Brodheadsville, with the Rev. Rick Rufenacht officiating. Burial will follow at St. Matthew's Cemetery, Kunkletown. Visitation 10 a.m.-noon Monday. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to the Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Co., P.O. Box 357, Kunkletown, PA 18058, or to St. Matthew's ECC, 102 Church Road, Kunkletown, PA 18058. www.kresgefuneralhome.com.
