Mildred Ceci Obituary
Mildred T. "Milie" Ceci, 100, of Hometown, died peacefully on Thursday, May 30, 2024. She was the wife of Louis Ceci for 62 years, before his death in 2008.
She was a daughter of the late Anthony and Anna (Mazur) Apanavage of Tamaqua.
Born and raised in Tamaqua, Millie graduated from Tamaqua High School in 1941. While there, she was a cheerleader, played the clarinet and sang in various operettas. Millie worked at Endicott Johnsons in Tamaqua in high school, and after graduation, she was employed by the Atlas Powder Co. in the primer division.
After marrying the love of her life, Millie dedicated her entire life to her husband, children and grandchildren.
She was a devout Catholic and a lifelong member of the now St. John XXIII Parish in Tamaqua.
Millie is survived by her daughters, Janice, widow of Michael Mazur, of Hometown, Nancy and David Reed of Andreas, Carol and Daniel Gould of Schnecksville, Theresa and Michael Miorelli of Allentown, Patricia and Larry Sheaffer of Hummelstown, and Donna and Arthur Fuehrer of Zions Grove; and sons, Louis Jr. and Michelle Ceci of Hometown, and David Ceci of Hometown, with whom she resided. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren: Adrienne (Eric) Orach of Lehighton, Angela (Lance) Ferree of York, Annmarie Mazur VanNorman of Hometown, Michael Jr. (Brandy) Mazur of Catasauqua, Mark (Jaclyn) Mazur of York, Kristen (Robby) Krapf of Coaldale, Kristopher Reed of Andreas, Jason Reed of Tamaqua, Kaylee and Angela Ceci of Hometown, Danielle Scotland of Denver, CO, Dana (Timothy) Howells of Germansville, David Gould of Schnecksville, Anthony Gould of Boca Raton, FL, Matthew Miorelli of New York, N.Y., Michael Miorelli of Laurel, MD, Brian (Bridget) Sheaffer of Denver, PA, Brad Sheaffer of Havertown, Arthur Fuehrer of Drums, and Alyssa and Christina Fuehrer of Zion Grove; 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by brothers: Stiney, Albert and Edgar Apanavage; and a granddaughter, Leanne Mazur.
Service: Private funeral service at convenience of family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lamar Christ Funeral Home, 31 Mahanoy Ave., (in Hometown), Tamaqua.
