Thomas Sandri Obituary

Thomas D. Sandri Sr.
Thomas Daniel Sandri Sr., 82, of Coatesville, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 6, 2021, in the Newport Meadows Health and Rehabilitation Center, Christiana, PA. He was the devoted husband of Karen (Greek) Sandri. They celebrated their 42th wedding anniversary last year.
He was the owner/operator of the former House of Wax Record Store, Tamaqua and Lehighton, and also was the owner of Choice Distributor, delivering snacks to local bars/restaurants.
Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late Daniel and Dorothy (Pavlick) Sandri.
He was a proud U.S. Army veteran.
A member of St. Peter Catholic Church, West Brandywine, he was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the West Penn Lions Club, the Tamaqua American Hose Company No. 1 and the Tamaqua Chamber of Commerce.
Tom enjoyed cooking. He was the chef for a Boy Scout Awards Dinner in Texas that his grandsons attended. He passed on his love of cooking to his grandson, Zach. He also cooked for Our Lady of Rosary Catholic Church, Coatesville.
Tom had a love for music and was an active musician his entire life. He played and taught the accordion and was a member of two different bands that performed at many fire company festivals and events. Another one of Tom's passions was wood working. He made numerous fine wooden furniture pieces for many family members and friends.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a daughter, Laura Famularo, and her husband, Ron Kitlas, of Fort Myers, FL; a son, Thomas D. Sandri Jr., and his wife, Shari, of Red Oaks, TX; a sister, Dr. Rozanne Sandri-Goldin, and her husband, Alan, of Irvine, CA; grandchildren, Zachary, Daniel and Maria Sandri, Sabrina Kirk-Caldwell and Mitchell Caldwell; and several nieces and nephews.
Service: Memorial Mass 11 a.m. Friday, May 14, St. Peter Catholic Church, 2835 Manor Rd., West Brandywine, with the Rev. David Waters officiating. It will be live streamed on the Joseph S. So sorry for your loss. Tom taught accordion lessons to me in the mid-60s. He was the best music teacher I ever had. I learned so much more than just notes from him and he played a big part in my love of music. I am in my early 70s and still play music to this day. I've always had great memories of him. May God bless you and your family in this difficult time.
