William "Bill" J. McDonald Jr., 65, of Bear Creek Lakes, Jim Thorpe, passed away on Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Carrano) McDonald and the late Ann L. (Olsefsky) McDonald.
Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late William J. and Verna (Barron) McDonald.
He was a 1968 graduate of Marian Catholic High School.
Bill was the creator and founder of Annie's Ice Cream, Max Security and McDonald Electric, all in Jim Thorpe.
He was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Lake Harmony.
Surviving, along with his wife, are a son, William D. McDonald of Lehighton; a brother, Bernard McDonald and his wife, Shelly, of Summit Hill; a stepdaughter, Jacqueline Hayes and her husband, Jason; step granddaughters, Caitlin Wesolowski, Isabella Wesolowski and Kennedy Hayes; sister-in-law, Jean M. Hughes; niece, Carra McDonald; and nephews, Mike Bamford, Robert Bamford and Stanley Bankus.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, Gary McDonald and John McDonald; and a nephew, Codey McDonald.
Service: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, Thomas J. Parambo Funeral Home, 54 W. Fell St., Summit Hill; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m., St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 266 W. Broad St., Tamaqua. Interment, St. Jerome's Cemetery, Tamaqua.
