Alberta Elma Merrill

MERRILL Alberta Elma (Leonard) Alberta Elma Merrill, age 81, of Grand Rapids, OH formerly of McGregor Lane passed away January 9, 2007, in her residence. The last of seventeen children, she was born May 2, 1925, in Luzerne, PA to Benjamin Gregory and Savilla Ellen (Hann) Leonard. Alberta was a sales clerk for the former Morrows Nut Store on Adams St. for 20 years retiring in 1979. Alberta was a former member and past worthy matron of the Sylvania Chapter #149 O.E.S. now the Toledo Chapter #341 O.E.S. Alberta also was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Temperance, MI. Surviving is her husband of 61 years, Arthur, whom she married June 22, 1945. Also surviving are her son, Arthur L. (Anne) Merrill, Jr.; daughters, Gloria Merrill, Diana Sue Merrill (Frank) Paine; Don Hughes and 5 grandsons and 2 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Boyer-VanWormer-Scott Funeral Home 5055 Secor Rd. (N. of Laskey Rd.) Friday 3-9 p.m. where services will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Paul Schmidlin officiating. Interment Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.
