Bernice M.



Bernice M. Parsil, 92, of Curtice, Ohio, died on February 18, 2015, at her home. Bernice was born on May 14, 1922, to Joseph and Anna Hilditch. She was a 1943 graduate of Clay High and became a beautician. Bernice worked in Toledo and Spartanburg, South Carolina during the war years. She married her husband in 1944 and together raised 11 children. She was an active parishioner of St. Ignatius Church. Bernice was an active Eucharistic Minister at St. Charles and a lector for many years. She belonged to St. Ignatius prayer group, Altar Society and loved Our Lady of Toledo Shrine. Bernice helped serve at the 55 and Over Group and worked at St. Louis Helping Hands for many years. She also led the Rosary at the ladies' funerals. Bernice was honored at the TDCCW Volunteer Luncheon as St. Ignatius Volunteer of the Year.

Surviving are Thomas (Polly), Terry (Sue), Jack (Gale), Glen (Carol), Barb (Dave) Thomas, Joyce (Roland) Freier, Debi (Gordy Heminger) Wasielewski, Wayne, Mike and Mark Parsil; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas; daughter, Linda McIntyre, and siblings, Frank, Delores, Gladys and John Robert.

Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Sunday, February 22, 2015, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. with recitation of the Rosary at 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N. Stadium Rd., Oregon on Monday at 10 a.m. and where the family will greet friends beginning at 9 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Those wishing an expression of sympathy in Bernice's memory are asked to consider St. Ignatius Catholic Church.
