Daniel L. Sr.
Daniel L. Maix Sr., 55, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2012. He was born on October 13, 1957, in Galion, Ohio to Leon and Betty Maix. A graduate of Clay High School, Dan attended Galion Welding School becoming a welder by trade. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with the grandchildren. He was an avid sportsman and hunter. Dan was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation and was a boy scout leader for many years. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Barbara; children, Daniel II (Lori) and Desiree (Milan III); grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Emily and Leeum; father, Leon; brothers, David and Rocky (Michelle); sisters, Tina (Craig) and Tonya (Randy), and many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd. Oregon, Ohio on Sunday, November 18, 2012, from 3-7 p.m. where services will be held at 7p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

He, was the best grandfather a girl can ask for. We miss him so much but we know that he is in all our hearts, the past 8 years have been hard but i'm glad that you are in a better place papa! I miss him dearly he will always be in my heart, I am sad to think he won't be at my high school graduation! but I know he will be here in spirit. we love and miss you so much. everytime i go hunting i wear your shirt and think of you when i'm in the blind. your the best papa a girl can ask for love you so much.

There will never be a moment in my life from this day forward when Im out hunting that I wont think of you. I hope I can be as successful as you were with me teaching me everthing I know about the outdoors and gun safety with my son Brenden. I have so many great memories growing up that I will cherish forever, the best being last November. I would give anything to spend one more day in a deer blind with you again!
