Daniel Zurawski Obituary

ZURAWSKI

Daniel A.

"I love to be beside your side, beside the sea, beside the seaside, by the beautiful sea."

-Harold R. Atteridge

Daniel A. Zurawski, an accomplished industrial engineer and patent-holding inventor, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014, in Florida surrounded by his family at the age of 86. A native of Toledo, Dan and his wife, Nancy, moved to St. Petersburg in 1994. After an engineering career that spanned over 50 years and included starting his own firm, D.A. Zurawski & Associates, he semi-retired in 2000, when Nancy died. Dan was granted a U.S. Patent on April 15, 1977, for a Combustion Air Preheater. He was the only child of Joseph and Marie (Glinka) Zurawski.

Dan was most at home in Florida with his love of the water, boating, fishing, and golf. His walks on the coastal beaches of the Gulf of Mexico and Boca Ciega Bay were very much part of his day. There was never a happier or more devoted father and husband. For us he remains ageless and will be missed dearly.

Dan's greatest accomplishment, though, was raising his three girls. Family was everything.

Survivors include his daughters, Judy, Susan, and Mary Ellen Zurawski.

The family would like to thank all of his caregivers for their care and compassion, especially Thomas E. Esposito, M.D., and Nancy Mumford, R.N., in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Private services will be held in St. Petersburg, Florida, and burial at sea. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Suncoast Hospice Foundation, 5771 Roosevelt Boulevard, Clearwater, Florida 33760.

"For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
