Duane C. Lyon Naples, FL
Duane C. Lyon, born February 1, 1927 in St. Johnsbury, VT, passed away September 24, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Daryl D. Lyon, with whom he will be reunited in God's Kingdom.
He will be dearly missed by his surviving family members including Sarah Atwood Lyon, his loving spouse of 65 years; his children, Darlinda Lyon McChain, Darlene Lyon, and Darwin Lyon; nine grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Duane served in the U.S. Air Force in Germany from 1945 to 1948. A longtime resident of Naples, Duane had been here since 1948. He was well loved by many kids as a Little League Baseball Coach. He was a great carpenter, his profession for many years and he adored his family.
In addition to his passion for his family, Duane had a passion for art. He was a talented artist with a flair for painting great landscapes, boats and the Naples Pier.
A celebration of his life will be held at New Hope Ministries on Friday, October 17th, at 6:30 p.m. with military honors. Final committal at Sarasota National Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Duane's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Support Network, 660 Tamiami Trail North, Suite 21, Naples, FL 34102.
