Edward Mueller Obituary
Edward Louis Mueller passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022. He was just shy of his 79th birthday.
Edward was born in Toledo, Ohio to Edward and Doris (McLaughlin) Mueller. Ed, a lifelong resident of Toledo, grew up in the Old North End and graduated from Woodward High School, Class of 1962. After graduation, he went on to attend the University of Toledo. Ed met his wife, Carol, and married in 1966. He proudly served in the Army National Guard for six years. Ed began working at Canberra Corporation in 1977 and worked continuously for Canberra for over 40 years. He was always very proud to remain with the same family-owned company for so long and was an integral part of the company's amazing growth.
After retiring, Ed remained active in organizations close to his heart. He was a member of the Toledo Yacht Club for over 35 years and served as a board member. Ed remained committed to Woodward High School, serving as President of Woodward's Alumni Hall of Fame Committee. The Committee recognizes WHS graduates by awarding scholarships to further their education. Ed was also a parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament Parish.
Ed enjoyed playing golf. He loved vacationing on the water in Northern Michigan and taking trips to New York City. He dabbled in metalsmithing, enjoyed listening to music, and loved spending hours in his yard.
Ed's dearest legacy is his family. His wife of 56 years, Carol (Dickens) Mueller; daughters, Kristen Mueller Oberlander and Brooke Mueller; son-in-law, Bert Oberlander; grandchildren, Jack, Lily, and Harry; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Edward was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Zawodni.
The family wishes to thank those who cared for Ed during his illness and included him in their prayers.
The family will receive friends at The Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd. at Byrne Road on Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 2-8:00 p.m. Please meet at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 2240 Castlewood Dr. on Monday, August 15, 2022 after 10:00 a.m. Followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. Donations in Edward's name can be made to Woodward H.S. Alumni Hall of Fame Scholarship Committee, P.O. Box 2768, Toledo, OH 43606-2768. Eddie and I grew up next door to one another and he and his family/friends had a lasting impact on my life. Although he was 3 years older we still enjoyed many fun times together along with his good buddy Mike Saba. Eddie was a classy guy and I was always proud to be known as his little cousin.

I grew up with Ed in north Toledo. Though I was a few years young than him, he "ran " in a group with my older sister and their friends. Always kind and courteous, always inquiring about people he truly cared about. A Polar Bear forever.
