Frances Moenich Obituary

Frances Mary (Scebbi) Moenich

Frances Mary Moenich (nee Scebbi) passed away during the early morning hours of January 21, 2025. She bravely faced cancer and fought it until the end.

Fran was born on December 3, 1950, to her late parents Richard F. Scebbi and Emanuella Scebbi (nee Mezzacappa) and is the oldest of four.

She grew up in Parma, Ohio, and graduated from Kent State University with a B.S. Degree in Secondary Education. She married her high school/college sweetheart, Terrence "Terry" Robert Moenich, just before graduation. Fran and Terry traveled a lot during their early marriage and settled down in Perrysburg, Ohio, to raise a family. When her children were young, Fran volunteered to be a troop leader with the Girl Scouts. Fran and Terry both volunteered to be Band Boosters for the Perrysburg High School Band. Fran and Terry also did a stint as presidents of the Band Boosters.

Fran worked for 25 years at and retired from the Bostwick-Braun Company of Toledo as a Graphic Artist/Desktop Publisher. Fran and Terry retired on the same day, and enjoyed going to Toledo Symphony Concerts and local musical events. Fran sang with a music group of seniors from the Perrysburg Senior Center.

Fran is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Terry; daughters, Cathy Ross, Leslie Moenich; granddaughters, Blake and Erica Ross; her sister, Barbara Lokey; brothers, Richard Scebbi, Domenic (Tambria) Scebbi; nieces, Aubrey (Aaron) Lokey, Alyssa Scebbi; nephew, Vincent (Harley) Scebbi; and many wonderful cousins and friends that are family.

Friends and family will be received Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 2-6 p.m. at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg, 419-874-3133. A funeral Mass will be held Monday, January 27, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front Street, Perrysburg. Burial will follow in Fort Meigs Union Cemetery. Dear Terry, Cathy, and Leslie,
I was so sad when I saw Fran's obituary in the paper. Perrysburg has lost a wonderful treasure. I mostly knew her as that wonderful Girl Scout leader, at least that is how we met. But Fran's wonderful, friendly personality was so warm that she quickly became a friend. She was always glad to see me, as I was also glad to see her. Even though Girl Scouts days have long passed, it was fun to see each other somewhere around town and catch up on the latest happenings.
You will all be in my prayers in the coming weeks and months as you go through this difficult time of mourning. May you all quickly transition to all the happy memories.
