Frederick "Jim"

Frederick "Jim" Hott, age 58, of Maumee, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born on October 16, 1955, in Toledo, Ohio to Frederick and Marilynn (Gunn) Hott.

Jim retired from Springfield Local Schools as a licensed electrician. He liked to race snowmobiles and was a member of the Michigan Snowmobile Association. Jim's hobbies included flying airplanes with the Flying Tigers RC Club and his love of music gave him the opportunity to play guitar in a band.

Jim is the loving father of Katie (Dylan Goodman) and Brian; adoring brother of Randy (Nancy) Hott and Amy (Mark) Grohowski. He also leaves behind many friends and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends and family may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio on Sunday, March 9, 2014, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Springfield Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio 30000 E. River Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 and the American Cancer Society Northwest Ohio Region, 740 Commerce Drive Suite B, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551. Online condolences may be shared with the family at

I grew up and lived two houses down from Jim, Amy, and Randy. I think about the family every time I drive by the house on Garden Rd. My thought and prayers are with the Hott family.

I grew up with Jim and we went through and graduated from the same Springfield School system that Jim retired from. Not only is it a sad day for "The Class of 1973" but for everyone who knew Jim.
