Mr. Hock was the Dean when I went to Stritch...He was tough , but fair. He was also the Uncle of a neighbor and would always play sports with us. Godspeed Jim aka Mr. Hock.

Some teachers you never forget. Jim Hock was one of those special teachers. A tough subject (physics) taught by a man with an eternal smile. Jim will always be remembered and appreciated by those he taught.

Jim has been a personal and family friend since we met in 4th grade in Genoa. He was always smiling, helpful, and thoughtful. He will be missed.

Mr. Hock was a generous teacher and friend whose wise counsel and good cheer made the year I took his class a great one. I have often thought of him over the ensuing 25+ years.

What an inspiring physics teacher Sylvania Northview HS had in Jim Hock. Our son Shawn said Jim's physics class led him to mechanical engineering, This led to nuclear engineering. Jim must have so many former students saying "Thanks, Jim" today!
Also, Jim officiated the wedding ceremony for our daughter Shannon & Mike, his former student. We rehearsed Friday night downtown Toledo & the next morning woke up to a blizzard! The wedding had to be moved to my nephew's home in Perrysburg...six days later. Luckily, Jim was very accommodating to date & time.
Our love to the family of this special human being!

I met Jim when he arrived to teach at Sylvania Northview! He enjoyed getting to know all his new colleagues JIM always greeted me with a warm smile, actually that´s how he greeted everyone. He was truly one of the good guys. I am sorry to hear of his passing and I wish peace to his family.
