Joan Florence



Joan Florence Burden, age 82, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Monday, April 13, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lorain, Ohio on April 4, 1933, to Walter Nowicki and Josephine (Ciula) Nowicki. She married William L. Burden on July 30, 1955. Together they had 5 children.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her children, Carol Ingle (Dick Kuralt), William Jr. (Connie), Laurie Kasparian (Steve), Lynette Westphal (Ron), and Micki Hetzel (Rick), along with many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Connie Morrison.

Joan lived life to the fullest and had wonderful neighbors. She enjoyed having lunch with her friends, seeing her Lambertville Foodtown gals weekly and cheering on the Toledo Walleye, Detroit Red Wings and Tigers. But most of all, she was proud of her children and loved spending time with them and their children. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

To honor her wishes, services will be private. Contributions in memory of Joan can be made to her Senior Nutrition Program at: Valley Services, Inc., 2120 Garden Lake Parkway, Toledo, Ohio 43614.
