John Frederick

John Joseph Frederick, 76, passed away on January 19th at home under Hospice care. Born May 22, 1947, to John M. and Blanche Frederick of Moore St., Toledo, he was a 1965 graduate of Woodward High School. John attended the University of Toledo, where he was an equipment manager for the Rockets' football team, a life-long supporter of UT athletics, and a member of the Varsity T Club. He was employed at the former City Auto Stamping, McDonald's, Toys-R-Us, Super Petz, and Menards. John loved spending time with his grandchildren and playing golf with his friend, Mike. He was a big fan of Toledo sports, especially the Walleye, and also followed NASCAR and the Yankees.

John is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marcia Spencer Frederick; son, David (Jeanette) Frederick; daughter, Kara (Jeremie) Brown; grandchildren, AJ Brown, Jacob (Lindsey) Brown, Katie Brown, and Audrey Brown; sister, Rose Lewandowski; sister-in-law, Martha Spencer; and brother-in-law, Bruce Spencer. John was preceded in death by his parents; sisters-in-law Bonnie Spencer and Janice Spencer; and brothers-in-law, Scott Spencer, Douglas Spencer, and Tom Lewandowski.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their care and support during John's last days. A memorial service will be held in May at Monroe Street United Methodist Church, where John was a member for 50 years. Those wishing to honor John's memory are urged to donate blood to the American Red Cross.
