Uncle Jack saved my life and the lives of members of my family. He & his brother Jim had a wooden Chris Craft cabin cruiser in the family and would go boating with friends & relatives for pleasure and fishing. I think this happened in the late 1970´s when I was a teenager. Weather forecasts of the day weren´t as predictable and we got caught out in shallow water in a storm. He kept her bow facing into the swells. If we´d have taken one sideways I might not be here to write this. I can remember hearing the prop wiz as she came out of the water briefly after each rolling wave. He got us back to the safety of the jetty as the winds intensified. Years later I took him on a charter off Catawba. The next day I went to Fisherman´s Wharf in Port Clinton and a guy had stories about Uncle Jack, all of them good. Jack was a gregarious man. Always enjoyed those times with him, Aunt Mary & my cousin Greg in Fremont, where my mom was born. Good people
