John SCARLATO Obituary

SCARLATO John L., Sr. John L. Scarlato, Sr., 86, of South Toledo, passed away May 1, 2010, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo, surrounded by his loving family. John was born to Louis and Ruth (Basso) Scarlato on August 5, 1923. John served his country in Europe, with the U.S. Army during WWII. He was owner and operator of the Emerald Café, Inc for 40 years. John is survived by his wife of 62 years, Imelda (Canelli) Scarlato; daughters, Mary Jo (David) Lisowski of Sylvania, OH, Paula (Jim) Berry of Maumee, OH and Annette (Steve) Topliff of Avondale, AZ; son, Mark (Deb) Scarlato of Devils Lake, MI; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grand children. John was preceded in death by his oldest son, John Jr.; parents; brother Frank and his sister, Mary Jane Fanelly There will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Friday at 11 AM at St. Hyacinth Church, Rev. Robert Wilhelm, celebrant, where friends will be received after 10 AM. Burial will be private at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Special thanks to University of Toledo Medical Center and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their loving care.
