John Taylor Obituary

John Edward Taylor

John Edward Taylor, 92, of Oregon, Ohio passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg. Jack, as known to his family and friends, was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 14, 1932, to Theodore and Marcella (Spenthoff) Taylor. Jack graduated from Macomber High School in 1950. He served his country enlisting in the Ohio National Guard during the Korean War. On June 9, 1956, Jack married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Beckman, after meeting her at the Toledo Council of Catholic Youth. They celebrated their love and commitment of 67 years, this past June. He was a member of St. Ignatius and St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Churches.

Prior to retiring in 1995, Jack worked for IBM, Bell Atlantic and Sorbus Corp, working in computer service repair. After his retirement, Jack pursued his love of fishing and hunting. He was a founding member of Toledo Bass Club, Bass Unlimited, and lifetime member of The Southside Sportsman's Club. A passionate bass fisherman, Jack spent countless hours exploring lakes across the country in search of trophy fish. He loved fishing in Florida during the winters, often inviting friends and family to join him. In the summers, he participated in local bass tournaments and enjoyed fishing trips to Rice Lake in Canada with his friends. Over the years, Jack transitioned from fishing with friends in Canada to joining his son Jeff on trips to the Georgian Bay. Together, they spent the last 15 years chasing huge bass, pike, and musky. His other sons, John, Joe, and grandson Jackson also joined them on some of these northern adventures.

Jack cherished spending time with his family and enjoyed playing cards with anyone who would join him. He found great joy in these simple pleasures.

In addition to his wife, Patricia, Jack is survived by his children, John (Bobbi) Taylor, Laurie (Tim) Schlueter, Lisa (Jeff) Keller, Joseph (Amie) Taylor, Jeffrey (Michelle) Taylor, Linda (Joe) Beach; grandchildren, Wes (Emily) Taylor, Zac (Katie) Taylor, Cody Taylor, Brad Wolfe, Samantha (Michael) Quinteros, Jillian (Alex) Hickey, Matthew (Rachel) Schlueter, Eric Schlueter, Moriah (Jay) Nagy, Ian Schlueter, Ariel (Josh) Segura, Ethan Hertzfeld, Kyell Taylor, Marena Taylor, Jackson Taylor, Kennedy Taylor, Madison Taylor, Taylor McGath, Sydney McGath, Logan McGath, Becca McGath, Xavier Beach and Sam Beach.
