Julie Christy Obituary

Julie Inglis Christy

Julie Inglis Christy, age 72, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Julie dedicated her life to caring for others, both professionally and personally. She built a remarkable career in healthcare as a pediatric nurse and later in clinical informatics, where she rose to the role of department Director and Interim CIO. Throughout her career, she was a passionate advocate for education in the medical field, always welcoming medical and nursing students into her exam rooms and supporting their growth.

While her professional accomplishments were significant, Julie's proudest and most cherished role was being a mother, sister and aunt. She lived for her children, sacrificing her own wishes to ensure they had everything they needed. To her, motherhood was the most important calling of her life-and she was, by every measure, the best one around.

Julie's adventurous spirit carried her from her childhood home in Toledo to Charleston, where she spent 5 years alongside her daughter and son-in-law. She treasured her time in Colorado-"God's country"-with her son and daughter-in-law, creating memories in the places she loved most.

She found joy in the simple things: spending time at the cottage, the company of her two grand-dogs, the laughter shared with her bridge ladies and lifelong high school friends, and the love she held for her family.

Julie is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Fred) Isch; her son, Matthew (Haley) Christy; her sister, Diane Wyper; her niece, Debra (John) Childress; her nephew, Don (Ashley) Wyper; and her dearly loved grand-niece and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Julie will be remembered for her kindness, her devotion to family, and her unwavering generosity of spirit. She touched countless lives through her care, her career, her friendships, and the love she gave so freely.

The family will be celebrating her life privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ohio Nurses Foundation at www.ohionursesfoundation.org.

Earlier today

As a new nurse I met Julie in 1987 as Flower Hospital pediatrics. She was a wonderful mentor, boss and friend. She stood by me through my son´s illness and death. Out paths crossed again at the then Medical College of Ohio where she led the informatics team. We remained friends connected through social media and an occasional phone call but time and distance never changed our friendship. His speed friend. Sandy Hensley
