Kim M. (Kennedy)
Kim M. (Kennedy) Schmidt, age 60, of Sylvania, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Ebeid Hospice Residence. She was born on February 2, 1956, to Patrick and Geraldine (Frankhouse) Kennedy in Toledo. After the loss of her parents and working with Hospice, she had a calling to work with the elderly. Kim was devoted to her job at the Area Office on Aging for over 15 years. She enjoyed the many relationships and friendships she made throughout the years. Kim was an avid reader, enjoyed taking cruises, loved music, and going to concerts with her husband. Kim had a love for animals, especially her granddogs.
Kim is survived by her loving husband of almost 40 years, Rick Schmidt; daughter, Lindsay; son, Erick (Brandi) Schmidt; brother, Patrick Kennedy; sister, Jill (Dan) Gardner; sister-in-law, Robin (Mike) Vogel; nieces and nephew, Kristin (Eddie), Kyle (Tori), Emily and Haley; her Pittsburgh family and many dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Sunday from 2 - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with visitation one hour prior.
Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider The Ovarian Cancer Connection of Toledo or ProMedica Hospice.
