Lillian Frances



Lillian Frances (née Russell) Hays passed away on October 14, 2012, at Heartland of

Waterville. Born June 30, 1921, in Chicago, IL to Alice (Wurster) and William

Russell, she later moved to Savanna, IL where she took pride in her job as assistant to the local physician and also served as president of the Lutheran League. Lillian volunteered for the U.S.O. during World War II, where she met her husband of 64 years, James A. Hays, who passed away on July 6, 2011. She attended Abiding Word Ev. Lutheran Church in Bowling Green, Ohio, enjoyed reading and spending time with her children and six grandchildren.

Lillian is survived by

children, Ruth (Harlan) Wilkerson, Dr. James R. (Brenda) Hays and Carole (Richard) Ulrich; grandchildren, Russell (Brooke) Wilkerson of Plano, TX, Mark Wilkerson, Matthew (April) Hays of Chicago, IL, Lt. Michael (Anna) Hays (USAF) of Columbia,

SC, Kimberly (Scott)

Ulrich-Strzyzykowski and

Christopher Ulrich, and great-granddaughter, Lillian Marie Hays of Chicago, IL.

Pastor Luke Ulrich will conduct a graveside service on Thursday, October 25, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. at Roth Cemetery on Keener Road in Monclova Township. Memorial contributions may be made to

Hays family, the Palenske family shares in the loss of a good mother and wonderful long time neighbor and beautiful woman. I was priviledged to visit her in these past years and have only fond memories. We are all better people for knowing here.
